Scripture is clear that God desires us to grow into maturity in Christ—to have Christ formed within us.
But how does that take place? Where do we begin? Fortunately, the Bible reveals the core characteristics of a developing disciple. We have discovered thirty-three core competencies or essential elements that are the foundation of a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ. We have divided these elements into three categories: “Basic Beliefs” which are the foundation of, “What I Believe” - “Divine Disciplines” which reveal “How I Behave”; and “Marks of Maturity” which are descriptions of “Who I Am Becoming.” It is the intent of the leadership of Grace to focus upon each of the thirty-three elements during our weekend celebrations at least once throughout a calendar year.
