Following Jesus Wherever He May Lead
Sunday, 11 December 2011
Series:
Following Christ, Fueled by God's Spirit
Speaker:
Rick Thompson, Tod and Kelly Goede
Description:
Sometimes Jesus leads us places we wouldn't normally go. We are called as part of Christ's Church to follow where he is leading us. This past summer, Tod and Kelly Goede were led to go to China to teach and share their lives and their faith with the people of China. Join us as they tell about their experiences and how God used them in China.
Dismantling the Walls that Keep Us from Finding Freedom in Christ
Sunday, 27 November 2011
Series:
Following Christ, Fueled by God’s Spirit
Speaker:
Rick Thompson
Passages:
Mark 1:40-45
Description:
Several forces are at work in the discouraged Christ-follower who finds peace and success elusive and fellowship with Christ undesirable. By acknowledging painful emotional experiences have maimed us, unholy vows have endangered us, dysfunctional behavior has been passed down to us, and demonic spirits work to deceive, tempt and accuse us, we can find true joy and freedom in following Christ. We are meant to break free from living defeated lives by standing on the truth of God’s Word (promises and commands) and being filled with God’s Holy Spirit.
Responding to the Promptings of the Spirit
Sunday, 20 November 2011
Series:
Following Christ, Fueled by God’s Spirit
Speaker:
Rick Thompson
Passages:
John 10:14-16; Romans 8:16; Acts 8:26-27
Description:
Christ-followers who walk with Jesus have eyes to see and ears to hear what others do not perceive. God reserves His plans for those who hunger for Him, and He entrusts His Spirit to those who love Him whole-heartedly. When God’s Spirit whispers to our spirits, He draws us into His larger purposes where life is meant to be lived. The economy of God is to bless His people to be a blessing to others.
Following Jesus
Sunday, 13 November 2011
Series:
Following Christ, Fueled by God’s Spirit
Speaker:
Peggy Ingram
Passages:
Mark 1:17; Matthew 11:28-30; Mark 3:13-15
Description:
Jesus never called us to become fishers of men. He said, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Beyond merely trying to master the techniques of leading people to Christ, the call of the Christ-follower is to follow Jesus … who will make us his witnesses to others. As we get our relationship with God right, telling others naturally flows. Christ-followers have learned that spending times of sweet fellowship with Christ through the Holy Spirit makes us effective at drawing others to him as well.
Giving Up Trying to Live the Christian Life On My Own
Sunday, 06 November 2011
Series:
Following Christ, Fueled by God’s Spirit
Speaker:
Rick Thompson
Passages:
Galatians 2:15-21;Colossians 1:27; 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Description:
Too many Christ-followers are weary, defeated and burned out in the Christian life and ministry because they try in their own might to live faithful lives of obedience. Instead of attempting to obey God’s commands in their own strength, those who follow Christ have learned the secret to fruitful discipleship, rewarding service and lifestyles of ministry is letting Jesus live life through them. When we do this together with those with whom we can be transparent and real, the Church strengthens and encourages each other to live markedly different lives.

Series:
Love God, Love Others, Change the World
Speaker:
Fred Gratto
Description:
Rock and Roll has always been a huge part of our lives. It accompanied us on many a first date, got us through college and long road trips and introduced us to a slew of bad hairstyles. But Rock and Roll has a lot more to offer us than just good times and great tunes. In fact, buried in the lines of some of Rock and Roll's most well known songs are many of the greatest truths in life. Rock and Roll offers us sage wisdom and advice to help us navigate many of life's most complicated and important issues. Join us as Fred Gratto, the author of '13 Things Rock and Roll Can Do For You' shares his unique insight into how we can Change The World.
How do You Save a Dying World?
Sunday, 16 October 2011
Series:
Love God, Love Others, Change the World
Speaker:
Rick Thompson
Passages:
Romans 8:18-23; Revelation 21:1-5; Luke 13:20-21
Description:
What is the role of the Church in society? As the Church, we are called to bring the Gospel to bear on the problems of our world, a world for which God so loved he sent his one and only son to die. When the Church does this, new life is born. Hospitals and schools are raised up to care for and educate people. Wells are dug to bring water to sick communities. Children are adopted. Human trafficking comes to a halt. People find freedom. Join us as Rick helps us understand how God uses the church to 'Change the World' and save a dying world.
Needed Desperately -- Compassion
Sunday, 09 October 2011
Series:
Love God, Love Others, Change the World
Speaker:
Rick Thompson
Passages:
Luke 10:25-37
Description:
Compassion is desperately needed…for those not like us…for those who have hurt us…for enemies against us. God is growing children like him—who show compassion to those who need it most. Jesus taught his followers God is not a respecter of persons, that we are to love Samaritans and children, to bless the righteous and the wicked, and to love even our enemies. Join us as Rick continues this series with more on 'Loving Others' and how desperately compassion is needed for our 'neighbors'.
Life is About Relationships. Relationships are Hard.
Sunday, 02 October 2011
Series:
Love God, Love Others, Change the World
Speaker:
Chuck Wise and Joanna Figley
Passages:
Philippians 2:5-8
Description:
As we continue this series, let's focus on how we should love others. The Bible says our fellowship is about oneness with each other, but we all know that relationships are hard. To be the way God intended them to be, relationships take vulnerability, humility, honesty, helpful confrontation and loving conflict resolution. We should pursue restoration and forgiveness instead of simply walking away. Join us as Chuck and Joanna share their insight on relationships.
