Speaker:  Rick Thompson
Passages:
  Philippians 2:5-11; 1 John 2:6

Description:
In America it seems anything is possible. We call this 'Upward Mobility' and we always want our children to have it better than we did. Most of us would never contemplate 'Downward Mobility' or a decrease in status, position, comfort or health. But isn't that what Jesus did when he came to our world. Join us as we look the example Jesus gave us by 'Living Incarnationally' and what the Bible says about how we can have this same attitude...

The Art of Taming Your Trowel
Sunday, 27 September 2009

Speaker:  Denny Heiberg
Passages:
  James 3:2-12

Description:
Why is it that recently in the news and sports there have been a large number of instances involving people cursing and saying terrrible and insensitive things? It all comes down to taming the tongue. How do we do that? This message explores the biblical principles that will help us tame our tongue. One such scripture is found in Ephesians 4:29 (NET) which says, "You must let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but only what is beneficial for the building up of the one in need, that it may give grace to those who hear."

Danny Wuerffel - Desire Street Ministries
Sunday, 20 September 2009

Speaker:  Danny Wuerffel
Description:
Led by God's heart for the poor, the desire of our hearts is to see impoverished neighborhoods become desirable places to live. Therefore, DSM's mission is to encourage and equip leaders to transform impoverished neighborhoods through spiritual and community development. By joining together people from all walks of life who are interested in redeeming the inner-city, we believe that we are marrying together something that represents the bigger Kindom of God -- incarnational leaders who actually move into the neighborhood, indigenous leaders who already live there, and neighbors who "move in" spiritually through prayer, encouragement and financial support.
