The Hole in the Resurrection
Sunday, 24 April 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Denny Heiberg
Passages:
  Titus 2:14; Ephesians 1:19-20; John 20:28

Description:
Why did Jesus die on the cross? He died to Redeem us -- but many are waiting until they die to experience the power that raised Christ from the dead. Many believers think that they can't partake in the benefits of the Resurrection until after they die...that's the 'Hole' in our understanding of the Resurrection. The truth revealed in the Bible is that the power of the Resurrection is available now to we who are believers. Join us as Denny explores the response of 'Doubting' Thomas to the Resurrection and answers the question, "How do we as believers respond to the Resurrection?"

Repairing the Hole in the World
Sunday, 17 April 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Chuck Wise
Passages:
  Luke 10:17-20;Luke 10:1-3; Matthew 16:24

Description:
This series of messages on 'The Hole in Our Gospel' has awakened and reminded us of the many hurting people in our world that are suffering and in need of the 'Whole' Gospel. This last sermon is about what we can do to repair the Hole in our World. There are many holes all around us that need to be filled and it is our prayer at Grace that God gives each one of us a 'cross' or a 'burden' to fill a specific hole. May God lead us in our efforts individually and as a church as we seek opportunities to put our Faith into Action.

Uncovering the Hole in the Church
Sunday, 10 April 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Denny Heiberg
Passages:
  James 1:26-27; Matthew 9:36

Description:
As we have been on this journey together reading and studying 'The Hole in Our Gospel', the magnitude of the problems facing the poor in our world can seem overwhelming. But there is GOOD NEWS and it is important to remember these three facts: (1) Everyone of these hurting people are created in God's image and loved by Him. (2) Every one of these challenges has a solution. and (3) Every one of us can make a difference. We at Grace are praying that God redirects the compass of your heart to compassion for others--a deep love and affection that is expressed in action.

Putting The American Dream To Death
Sunday, 03 April 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Denny Heiberg
Passages:
  Acts 2:44-46; Acts 4:32-35; Matthew 25:14-30

Description:
The 'American Dream' promises a life of personal happiness and material comfort because in America equality of opportunity permits any American to aspire to high attainment and material success. As some put it, "I worked hard, I earned it, and it's mine to do with as I please." The Bible has a different message when it comes to money and possessions. All that we have received comes from God and He wants us to use it for His purposes. Join us as Denny helps us understand the Parable of the Three Servants in Matthew chapter 25...

What is Wrong With This Picture?
Sunday, 27 March 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Rick Thompson
Passages:
  Luke 12:13-21; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5

Description:
Do you consider yourself to be rich? Most of us would answer this question with an emphatic 'No', yet when we compare our annual salaries to the average annual salary of the rest of the world, we are actually quite 'rich' (go to globalrichlist.com to see where you rank). Without even thinking about it, we might be infected with the sin of greed. Join us as we look at a story in Luke chapter 12 where Rick helps us realize that God's answer to greed is generosity...

Finding the Hole in Me
Sunday, 20 March 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Denny Heiberg
Passages:
  Matthew 25:31-46; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Description:
Scripture reveals at the final judgment, the only thing that will really matter is our relationship with Jesus. And our relationship is based upon our walk with Him, not our talk about Him. How we live out our lives reveals what we really believe about Jesus. Join us as Denny explains what the Bible says about being truly rich--rich in good deeds--and how God calls us to be generous and willing to share so we can take hold of the life that is truly life.

What is the Hole?
Sunday, 13 March 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Rick Thompson
Passages:
  Micah 6:8; Luke 4:14-21; Luke 16:10

Description:
Is our faith just about going to church, studying the Bible and avoiding the most serious sins--or does God expect more? Have we embraced the 'whole' gospel or a gospel with a 'hole' in it? Rick explains that the 'whole' gospel includes the spiritual (faithfulness), the physical (mercy), and the social (justice). Join us as he reveals that the 'whole' gospel was always meant to be a world-changing social revolution, a revolution that begins with us.

What Does God Expect Of Us?
Sunday, 06 March 2011

Series:  The Hole In Our Gospel Speaker:  Denny Heiberg
Passages:
  Micah 6:8; Matthew 23:23; James 2:14

Description:
We are embarking on a journey at Grace to discover if we have a HOLE in our Gospel. This sermon series is based on a book by Richard Sterns entitled, "The Hole in our Gospel" and we as a church will be meeting in small groups for six weeks as we study this book together along with the sermons to discover what it means to be a Christ follower. Join us as Denny introduces us to this series and explains to us what God expects of us...

Why Are You Robbing Me?
Sunday, 27 February 2011

Series:  Reality Check: Are you a fan...or a follower? Speaker:  Rick Thompson
Passages:
  Malachi 3:8,10; Exodus 19:5-6; Psalm 135:4

Description:
God calls us His Treasured Possession throughout the Bible. What does it mean that He sees us this way? If we truly understood how God feels about us, would it change our relationship with Him? As we continue our study of Malachi, we find a place where God says that the people who believe in Him are robbing Him. What is He talking about? Join us as Rick challenges us to stop holding back from God...

Who Are Today's Priests?
Sunday, 20 February 2011

Series:  Reality Check: Are you a fan...or a follower? Speaker:  Denny Heiberg
Passages:
  Malachi 2:7-9; 1 Peter 2:9; 1 Peter 2:5

Description:
Why was the final Old Testament prophet, Malachi, given a message from God that condemned Israel's priests? As we look at the scriptures we see that the priests had abandoned their sacred duty to God and to his people. By their inaction they condoned what the people of Israel were doing. Instead of teaching the truth as God's messengers, they led many into sin. Join us as Denny explains how the message in Malachi is a challenge for us today to bring our first and our best to God...
