Cleansing Stream Seminar
At The Family Church
Begins September 5th
We are partnering with The Family church to give you the opportunity to participate in The Cleansing Streams Seminar. Our Father in heaven desires us to grow into all that we were created to be, but sometimes our life experiences have put unhealthy misconceptions and obstacles in our way. In order to grow and mature in His image we have to be willing to look at the things that we struggle with that keep us from His perfect will. This Seminar is designed to bring healing, restoration, pruning, nurturing and maturity in Christ to our lives. The seminar is five sessions in addition to a weekend retreat.
The cost of this seminar and the retreat (not including lodging and food) is $110.00.

Mastering Basic Bible
Study Skills for Men
Room A212
Pastor Rick helps men learn to
discover for themselves how to read the Bible to hear God’s voice so they can be equipped to lead their families and others into a deepening relationship with Christ. Where do I start? How do I find a translation I can understand? What if
people find out that I don’t know the difference between the Old
Testament and New Testament? Is the Bible reliable, and how can I articulate that to people who think it’s just a book written by men? If you are looking to answer questions like these and become adept at handling the Word of God, this Life Lab will give you the basic tools necessary for making reading the Bible a natural part of your
Christian journey—an indispensable tool for passing the faith on to others.
Instructor: Rick Thompson, Lead Pastor
Hebrews For Everyone
Room A104
For many Jewish Christians of the first century, living in the light of the gospel was challenging. Having
accepted Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah, they were regarded by still-skeptical family, friends and
neighbors as dangerous, misguided and even disloyal to all that God had said earlier on. The letter to the Hebrews was written to show that you can't go back to an earlier stage of God's purposes but must press on eagerly to the one that is yet to come. In these studies by Tom Wright we find encouragement and assurance that pressing on, even in the face of such close and constant pressure to fall back, is its own reward.

How to be a Life Coach
Resource Room
A significant way for us to make an impact on the world around us is for us to pour our lives into
another person. Life coaching is a secular term, which simply means walking alongside someone else while helping them set and achieve goals. However, unlike many “life coaches”, ITEC’s LIFE coaching material is rooted and grounded in the Word of God. It is real-world, practical discipleship. It involves sitting down with someone, one-on-one; going through seven areas of life; and helping them to set and achieve goals. It is a tool that can assist someone to live life intentionally in order to glorify God in all facets of life.

Instructor: Susan Bowles
Missions Training
Room A211
Whether you are thinking about participating in a mission trip in the coming year, foreign or domestic, or if you are actually signed up for a trip, this Life Lab is for you. It is our desire that all teams from Grace to be sent out are well prepared, equipped and trained. The core curriculum for this course is “The Missions Dilemma” by Steve Saint. This Life Lab presents a new and
refreshing outlook towards missions.

Spiritual Disciplines
How to Deepen your Daily Faith Journey
Room A113
Many times as Christians, we hear about having a personal relationship with God but know of Him mainly as a concept. In the course of a survey of the Grace community it was revealed to us that this was an area in which, as a whole, we needed growth. This Life Lab is designed to introduce you to methods and practices that will kindle a living, daily walk with the Lord. It is our hope that you will find one of these practices that resonates with your time available and the rhythm of your life.

Sunday Life Labs:
Disciple Bible Study
10:30am - 12:30pm
Room A115
DISCIPLE assumes that the bible is the key to renewal in the church. It recognizes the human-divine nature of the Bible: The actual texts of Scripture were written by human beings like ourselves in their cultural settings, under the divine inspiration of God. This study requires reading large portions of Scripture each week and is based on careful study and preparation. During the course of thirty-four weeks, groups will move through the biblical stories of Creation to the New Jerusalem. The titles of the sessions along with theme words; theme verses; and major persons, events, and topics will set the sequence of the biblical story in the minds of the participants. The principal Scripture for each session follows the
chronological movement of the biblical story.
Instructor: Ann Abbott

Parenting with Love and Logic
For Parents of Young Children
Upstairs in the Lodge
10:30—noon
"I don't understand it. The techniques my parents used so effectively just don't seem to work with kids today." Does this statement sound familiar to you? A lot of parents today are wondering what to do with their kids and are frustrated because the old techniques just don't seem to get the job done.A lot of conflicting philosophies have been presented over the last 30 years. Many of these sound good, but don't seem to do the job of helping children become respectful, responsible, and a joy to be around. This program is known as Parenting with Love and Logic, a philosophy founded by Jim Fay and Foster W. Cline, M.D., and based on the experience of a combined total of over 75 years working with and raising kids. Parents will take turns
watching children on the playground and in spaces set up for this.

Discovery Bible Study
Room A115 - 9:30 a.m.
(Companions in Christ)
This Life Lab tracks with the sermon series each week as we journey through the major stories of the Bible. This is an interactive and rewarding way of staying connected with the message each week. It allows us to explore the ideas further that we just experienced during the Sunday message. This Life Lab also prepares you to share your story in an effective, non-threatening way with friends and co-workers.
THE TRUTH SEEKERS
(New Young Adults Class)
9:30 a.m.
The Resource Room
Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?”
This is still a question we ask consciously or
unconsciously today. In this class, we will, like a child, ask the big
questions of “What” and “Why.” “What about suffering and evil?” “Why believe in Jesus Christ?” “Why believe in the existence of God? “Why believe in the resurrection of Jesus?” “Why believe in the Bible?” “What about creation?” We will ask and seek the truth.
This new young adults class will meet for 8 weeks.
Begins September 9th.
Instructor: Bill Barton
Marriage Tune Up
10:30 a.m.
Room A104
Begins September 9th
This Life Lab is for any married couple from just hitched to long term married. We want to explore together how to enrich our relationships and learn how to thrive in the midst of life’s curveballs. We will draw from many sources and experts on married relationships. When we stood at the altar together, we had
expectations of what life would be like together. In most of our experiences, the reality does not match the expectation. Whether you live in wedded bliss or are really struggling, you will gain something from this Lab.

Monday Evening Life Lab
Beth Moore
Room A104
6:30-8:30 p.m.
Begins September 17th
Study of James
Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any New Testament book. Come along with Beth Moore on a journey to get to know both the man and the Book of James. You will never be the same again. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. Plus, Beth
introduces a 5-tiered study approach that she has never done before.
