March 4 | Luke 22:1-23 The Last Supper: A Meal of Remembrance for Years to Come

CA: As followers of Jesus we must regularly remember Christ’s death through Holy Communion.

CA: We must strive to do God’s will even if it is costly for us.

April 1 | Luke 22:63-23:56 Tried and Crucified: The Ultimate Sacrifice

(2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 1:9; 3:18; 1 John 2:1-2)
BT: Jesus is tried, mocked, whipped, and crucified for the penalty of humanity’s sin.
CA: Out of gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice for us, we must pledge our allegiance to honor Jesus with our lives.

April 8 | Resurrected: The Beginning of the New Creation

(Matthew 28:1-15; Luke 24:9-32)
BT: Jesus rises from the dead validating his substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world.
CA: The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ is God’s seal of authenticity that Jesus is the Lord over death and life. Therefore, we must seek to honor Him with our lives and share this great news with others with a sense of urgency.
MV: Luke 24:25-26

April 15 | John 20:24-29, 21:1-19 Restored to Serve: After Denials and Doubts

BT: Jesus extends mercy and grace to His sinful, selfish, and fearful followers.
CA: When we fail the Lord, He is willing and waiting to restore us to fellowship so we might follow Him in gratitude and obedience.

April 22 | Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Reaching the World: A God-Sized Mission

Luke 24:47-49; John 20:21; Acts 1:8
BT: Jesus commissions His followers sending them out into the world to make disciplemaking followers of all peoples.
CA: As followers of Jesus we have a mandate to make disciplemaking followers of Jesus around the world.

April 29 | Acts 1:3-14 A Final Word: Jesus Ascends to His Father

BT: Just before Jesus ascends back to His Father, He recommissions His disciples with clear instructions to wait for the Holy Spirit’s empowerment.
CA: God has now equipped and empowered us with all the essentials for carrying out our mission of making disciplemaking followers of Jesus Christ.
MV: Acts 1:8

May 6 | Genesis 6:5-9:17 The Flood: Regret, Reboot, and a Rescue

BT: God grieves over humanity’s sinfulness and judges them with a destructive flood.
CA: God is a righteousness judge who punishes sin and yet abounds in mercy and grace!

BT: God wrestles with His fearful and stubborn follower.

BT: God disciplines His faithless people by causing them to wander for forty years.
CA: God will discipline us when we chose not to believe the promises in His Word.

July 29 | Joshua 1-6, 24:14-24 Joshua: Leading with Courage into God’s Promise

BT: God uses Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promise Land.
CA: God wants to use each of us to boldly accomplish His purposes.

August 5 | Judges 6-7 Gideon: God’s Mighty Warrior

BT: God chooses and uses Gideon in spite of his weak faith.
CA: If we make ourselves available to God, he will use us in spite of our fears or weaknesses in our faith.

August 26 | 1 Samuel 16-17; 2 Samuel 6-7 David: A Man After God’s Heart

BT: God seeks after those who love Him wholeheartedly.
CA: Our ultimate purpose is to love, worship, and obey God with a whole heart.

September 16 | 1 Kings 18 Elijah: A Spiritual Showdown

(Ephesians 6:12)
BT: Elijah calls upon God who sends fire from heaven to defeat the prophets of Baal.
CA: God has the power to miraculously intervene in our spiritual battles.

September 23 | Jonah 1-4 Jonah: The Directionally and Mercifully Challenged Prophet

BT: God goes to great extremes to turn a runaway prophet back to his mission and when the people repent, God shows mercy and compassion to those who do not yet know Him.
CA: God is the God of the second chance and He desires for us to have a heart of compassion like His for all people.
MV: Jonah 4:1-2

September 30 | Isaiah 7:14, 9:2-7, 53, 55, 60 Isaiah: Visions of Things to Come

BT: God predicts through Isaiah the coming of the Child who would become the Suffering Servant to die for our sins.
CA: God has sent His own Son to suffer the consequences for our straying away from God’s path so through faith in Him we could be counted righteous.

October 7 | Daniel 1, 6 Daniel: A Man of No Compromise

(Acts 5:29)
BT: Daniel reveals that no matter the circumstances, God is to be obeyed rather than man.
CA: Building a strong foundation of intimate prayer and authentic worship we will stand firm, no matter the circumstances, against the temptation to disobey God.

October 14 | Esther 1-10 Esther: Risking Her Life for the Security of Others

(Acts 13:36)
BT: God orchestrates events and appoints Esther for her appointed time in Israel’s history.
