Week 4: iWitness – First Hand Encounters with the Risen Christ

This week we are going to focus on James the half brother of Jesus. Initially, he was a non-believer, but then became a believer after an encounter with the risen Christ. Just after the resurrection, James became a leader of the Christian movement at the church in Jerusalem. James is credited with writing the New Testament epistle called James. This book is a practical book on living out the Christian walk as a faithful follower of Christ and what this means. Ultimately, the same Jewish leaders that crucified Christ in Jerusalem killed James “the just” for his faith in Christ.

Week 3: iWitness – First Hand Encounters with the Risen Christ

There is Mary the mother of James, Mary the sister of Martha from Bethany and Mary the wife of Clopas that was there at the crucifixion.

iWitness – First Hand Encounters with the Risen Christ

This week we are going to focus on the two disciples that meet Jesus on the road to Emmaus.  We will look at some of the possibilities of Old Testament scripture that Jesus share with them and also at some of those “AHA” moments where we needed hindsight in order to truly see the bigger picture.

Digging Deeper: iWitness – Eyewitness accounts of the Resurrection

Understanding God’s grace and how He extends it to us. The message this week reflected on Peter, the leader of the disciples and one called by Jesus to be Fisher’s of Men. In “Digging Deeper” we are going to explore Peter and his life with Christ; however, look for the ways that these engagements with the LORD shows His grace and mercy and that same grace and mercy that is extended to each of us, including you, on a daily, moment-by-moment basis. In some cases, we will use a single gospel text, but in other cases we will use all three of the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) as well as John to get a “full picture” of Peter and his interactions with Christ.
